Baekgaard, Ltd., has been in business since 1953 when Peer Baekgaard, a Danish immigrant, began selling items he imported from European nations to sell to retailers across the United States. For many years, Mr. Baekgaard personally traveled the United States to meet retailers and to sell them fine gifts to add to the collections in their stores. Today, Baekgaard, Ltd., has independent sales representatives who cover the United States from coast to coast and sells its products to approximately 3500 retailers, catalogs, sports shops, house wares stores and the like. Baekgaard, Ltd., products are no longer just imported from Europe, but are also manufactured in the United States as well as in Asia.
